Meet College Works

College Works Painting program gives students an opportunity to build a competitive resume and gain marketable leadership skills through learning how to operate a small painting business.

CWP helps university students develop, implement, and illustrate a strong work ethic, strong communication skills, effective organizational management skills, powerful sales skills, and an overall understanding of the mechanics of leadership that can be applied to any profession. The challenging job market has made it essential for college students to gain real world experience prior to graduation. CWP provides a universally useful answer to this need.

They are looking for extremely competitive and motivated students who want a challenge this summer unlike a typical summer job. The College Works internship is a paid internship. Last year's College Works interns at UCSB earned profits averaging $5,000 and as high as $20,000 their first year while gaining business experience and business contacts. College Works interns design and implement a marketing program, conduct sales, estimate projects, work with customers, and recruit, hire, and train their own employees. Essentially, they learn all aspects of running a small business.

College Works Alumni are an extremely successful group of individuals and many own or run large companies or have gone on to work for companies such as Google, Accenture, 3E, PWC, and Morgan Stanley. As an intern you will have an opportunity to meet and learn from many of these alumni. Also, successful completion of the program places you into a select referral program to help you with your job search after graduation.

CWP is in the final run of their recruiting for the 2014 summer. They will be on campus for these upcoming events:
--resume+ Jan 22nd, 2pm -4pm, Career Services Courtyard
--Find and Secure an Internship Workshop on Jan 21st, 2pm-3pm, Career Services Rm. 1109
